Steven Kaplan, MD

Steven M. Kaplan, MD, MBA, joined Hill Physicians in 2017 and was appointed as a board member in 2018. In 2018, he joined Epic Care Medical group and now serves on its board of directors. Prior to joining Hill Physicians, Kaplan held the role of president of Muir Medical Group IPA for 12 years. He also served as chair of the Department of Family Medicine at John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek from 2002 to 2005, and as a member of the John Muir Health Board from 2007 to 2017. Kaplan has practiced family medicine in Clayton for over 30 years. He joined Concord Family Practice in 1989 and formed Clayton Valley Medical Group in 1991, serving as medical director for both groups. He is an active member of the American Academy of Family Practice. Kaplan graduated from the Stanford Graduate School of Business in 1986 and from the Stanford School of Medicine in 1987. He completed his internship at Pacific Presbyterian Medical Center.
